BKSA Kitesurf Freestyle Championships

The competitors were here at the weekend, but unfortunately the right conditions weren't.

Although there was wind, it was in the wrong direction for kitesurfing and the competition was unable to go ahead.

There were perfect conditions for surfing though, so at least everyone had a chance to get in the water.

Zapcats King of the Surf Rounds 1 & 2

In 2007, Watergate Bay hosted the first four-round 'King of the Surf' event and we're doing the same in 2008.

The first two rounds were fantastic, with great weather. Although the waves weren't as big as some of the racers were used to, the 2ft swell made for some exciting racing.

BLU Midsummer Classic

The UK’s best longboard surfers competed in this round of the British Longboard Union series - the event that signals summer has begun!

UKSRL Surf-Boat Racing

We were disappointed last year when the Surf-Boat event had to be moved to Tolcarne because of bad conditions but we're looking forward to the 12th July when we'll see the Australian surf lifeboats down at Watergate Bay.

White Stuff Surf Relief UK Festival

The 2007 White Stuff Surf Relief UK Day was great fun and we've had some lovely feedback from people who made it down to the beach on the 7th July. The best bit is that we exceeded our target of raising £10,000 for Surf Relief.

We're going to be doing it all over again this year, with more entertainment and the popular 'Sunset Sessions' and we hope you'll join us.

Polo on the Beach

Over two thousand spectators packed the sands of Watergate Bay on the evening of 9th September to watch a fiercely contested match at the Veuve Clicquot Polo on the Beach event.
